5 Great RVs for Full-Time Living

There's nothing quite like the freedom of traveling in an RV, no matter how long you plan to do it. And if you’re considering becoming a full-time or at least seasonal RVer, it’s crucial to choose  the right RV to fit your budget, traveling party size, and other needs/wants. With so many options available, it’s easy to become overwhelmed when trying to decide which type of RV to consider. In this article, we'll explore a few RVs that make great choices for full-time RV living.

Class A Coaches

It’s no secret that the capacity, amenities, and security features offered in most standard class A coaches make them the most comfortable way to enjoy life as a full-time RVer. Most class A coaches boast ample floor plans to sleep four or more people and include a full-sized bathroom and kitchen, while still allowing for plenty of essential storage.

Drawbacks for a class A coach include driveability and budget. Class A motorhomes are luxury RVs, not adventure vans, and that often comes with a higher price tag and limitations on where you can drive or park.

Newmar Dutch Star

One of Newmar’s original class A coaches, the Dutch Star is the #1 bestseller in its class for a reason. Available in 12 floorplans, including the wheelchair-accessible 4311, this coach offers all of the comforts of home on wheels. From its stained wood cabinetry, full-sized refrigerator, pantry, wine cooler, extra seating and sleeping areas, and more, the Dutch Star is fully equipped to help you feel cozy and comfortable during long-term life on the road.

Tiffin Allegro

Ranging in size from 37 to 45 feet, the Allegro is stocked with technology and comfort elements that make this a great choice for full-time RVing. This smooth-riding coach also includes safety features like the OnGuard ACTIVE package, with Advanced Emergency Braking System and Adaptive Cruise Control. Technology advantages include the MIRA app, allowing you to have total control of all electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems from a smartphone or tablet. With 4 interior décor plans, as well as choices for flooring, leather, and cabinetry, you can make this coach exactly the luxury home on wheels you dream about.

Class B Motorhomes

Though Class B RVs aren’t usually the first choice for full-time RV living, they may be just the ticket for single travelers or those who travel for work or work while they travel.

Winnebago Solis

Assembled on the Dodge Ram ProMaster chassis, the Winnebago Solis is an easy-to-drive RV that has a small footprint but feels large on the inside. Using a pop-top design to increase living and sleeping spaces, the Solis includes a shower, dinette seating, and LED lighting. LP, smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors keep you safe while you sleep, while forward collision warnings and a pedestrian automatic emergency braking system keep you safe while you drive. This Class B feels bigger than its 21-foot length and is ready to take you just about anywhere on a long-term motorhome adventure.

Class C RVs

Class C and Super C RVs are often a great choice for owners who want plenty of room and comfort from a more maneuverable coach.

Newmar Supreme Aire

The Newmar Supreme Aire is a luxurious Super C available in six floor plans, ranging from 40 to 45 feet in length. Décor choices include fabrics and wood finish options, and standard entertainment features include a 50-inch Samsung 4K LED TV, Bose sound, and a Winegard Rayzar Automatic Digital TV Antenna. The roof is also prepped for a traditional satellite or Starlink Roam to keep you connected on the road. Built on a solid M2 112 Freightliner chassis and powered by a Detroit DD13-505 engine, the Supreme Aire isn’t just for looks and entertainment: this is a coach meant to take you anywhere, for as long as you want.

Tiffin Wayfarer

While the Supreme Aire is about size and luxury, the Tiffin Wayfarer is more focused on getting you to your destination in comfort. A smaller Class C at just 25 feet, the Wayfarer is built on a Mercedes-Benz 3500XD chassis and boasts a 3.0-liter diesel engine paired with a Mercedes 7G-tronic transmission. The Wayfarer has 4 floor plans and can sleep up to five people, and depending on the layout, basement storage ranges from 37 to 130 cubic feet. The 30-gallon fresh water and 28-gallon black water tanks may mean you will make more stops, but it’s still a great option to consider if you want to be able to fit into smaller parking locations or are more focused on your destinations.
