2017 Best Summer Rodeos In Colorado
There are great summer rodeos coast to coast, but for this blog, we chose to zoom in on Colorado, with their majestic mountains and dry summer climate that doesn’t make you run for the air-conditioned indoors.
Here are our Top 4 Picks 2017 Summer Rodeos worth visiting in colorful Colorado.
Set in scenic Snowmass Village, this rodeo goes down from June 14th to August 23rd. This event is the longest running rodeo in Colorado. Kids will be able to enjoy an inflatable bouncy house and a petting zoo. Adults will be able to enjoy mechanical bull rides, shopping, and a cowboy dinner. Everyone can end the night with toasting marshmallows by the campfire.
This rodeo hits Colorado Springs from July 11th through July 15th. The proceeds from this rodeo go to charities that support members of the military and their families, so your money goes toward a good cause. There are the usual rodeo events, in addition to pre-show events including a parade, pony rides, and a climbing wall. For a schedule and prices and information about the Pancake Street Breakfast or even Mutton Bustin’!!
You’d be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful location for a rodeo than Estes Park. July 5th through the 10th. The Rooftop Rodeo features a parade through the town of Estes Park, a mutton bustin’ kid’s event, and a “cash catch” for kids 8-12 years of age. This is a great rodeo for the entire family!!
If you want a rodeo surrounded by all the fun and entertainment of a state fair, this is your best bet. From August 25th to September 4th the Colorado State Fair and Rodeo goes down in Pueblo, about two hours south of Denver. In addition to the rodeo, there’s a full-blown carnival, a circus, plus concerts by legends like ZZ Top. It’s 11 days of amazing fun!!
Summertime is the perfect time to get out and watch the festivities. If you’re RV’ing through the state or just hauling your horse trailer, don’t forget Transwest is always here for trucks, equipment, and parts!
