The National Western Stock Show

Perhaps one of the largest and most well-known stock shows is the National Western Stock Show. This stock show is hosted in Denver, Colorado, and has been taking place since 1906.
The National Western Stock Show features a rodeo, horse show, and livestock show. Additionally, this event and foundation serve the agriculture industry with college and graduate-level scholarships in agriculture and veterinary medicine for those who want to practice in rural areas.
Taking part over the course of 16 days, this stock show is a nationally recognized event. Each year, over 700,000 visitors attend the event in the beautiful state of Colorado.

The Arizona National Livestock Show

Known as the largest livestock show in the Southwest, this annual Arizona tradition began in 1948. The Arizona National Livestock Show brings in exhibitors and attendees from over 39 states and over 4,200 heads of the nation’s best cattle, sheep, goats, swine, and horses for a weekend of competitions.
In addition to the livestock competitions, there are plenty of events for the whole family. Youth compete in public speaking contests, along with livestock judging and skill-based competitions.
On Cattleman’s Day, a lively competition takes place between men and women during the Arizona National Working Ranch Horse Competition, Ranch Replacement Heifer, and Commercial Bull Show and Sale and Cattledog Competition.
For those who enjoy a delectable bite to eat, the recent addition of the Barbecue Master competition is a must-attend event. In fact, the Kansas City Barbecue Society has actually sanctioned the stock show as the Arizona National BBQ Stampede.
For the kids, the Farm Experience offers an interactive look into the agricultural lifestyle. They can practice riding a woolly sheep or even roping a goat.
